I do not write theory. Every angle I review on this blog has to survive the same question I ask my SDRs every morning: "Would this actually book a meeting with a real French CMO this week?"
What I review
My role on this blog is the operator pass. Vincenzo runs the deliverability tests. Nicolas brings the Sortlist data and CEO angle. I am the person asking the unfair questions before we hit publish:
- "Would a French B2B CMO actually open this email subject line?"
- "Is the RGPD claim here matching what CNIL has actually sanctioned in the last 24 months - or is it bookstore legal advice?"
- "Does this tool's pricing math hold up when you put a 4-person SDR team on it for 6 months?"
- "What is the support response time when a French-speaking SDR opens a ticket at 14h on a Tuesday?"
- "Is the personalization output good enough that I would let one of my reps send it without a manual review?"
If the answer is shaky, the article goes back to drafts. If the answer is honest, we publish - even when the verdict is uncomfortable for a vendor we like.

Why I review every comparison
The French market specifics I bring
A lot of cold email content on the internet is implicitly written for the US SaaS reality - short cycles, low-friction outbound, a regulatory environment that tolerates volume. France, Belgium, and Switzerland do not work like that, and most "best of" articles miss it. The specifics I make sure end up in every comparison piece I review:
- Cadence pacing. A 7-day, 5-touch cadence that books meetings in San Francisco gets a French CMO to mark you as spam by touch 3. We rebuild the cadence math for European patience.
- Subject line tone. "Quick question" works in English. The literal French translation reads as either condescending or sloppy. Tools that auto-translate without retesting language patterns produce subject lines that hurt conversion.
- RGPD posture in practice, not theory. CNIL has been clear about what is and is not legitimate B2B outreach. Tools that wave a generic "GDPR-compliant" sticker without an EU-hosted DPA fail the test. We say so.
- Inbox provider mix. France runs a long tail of free.fr, orange.fr, laposte.net inboxes that Anglo deliverability blogs ignore entirely. Tools tuned for Gmail-first deliverability quietly underperform here.
- Trust ladder length. A French B2B buyer needs more proof points before a meeting. That changes how a sequence converts and how a tool's personalisation has to perform.
How I work with Vincenzo and Nicolas
The three of us own different lenses on the same article:
- Vincenzo runs the deliverability and sequence-design test in the lab - 14 days, 1,000+ sends per tool, full bounce typology.
- Nicolas brings the data and pricing math from Sortlist's 600K monthly demands and Overloop's 1.2M sequences.
- I am the operator pass. The "would I run this on my own SDR team next Monday" question. If the answer is no, the verdict gets rewritten before publication.
