I do not test tools alone. The blog runs on a four-person pipeline:

If a recommendation in one of my pieces does not hold up, that is on me to fix. Email corrections@overloop.com with the URL and a source - we update factually-incorrect content within 7 days.

Why these guides

Most "best of" listicles read like a SEO exercise. The brief I work to is the opposite: write something a reader would forward to a teammate. If the operator team would not run the recommendation themselves, it does not make the cut. If a tool is in the listicle, there is a reason - and we say what it is, where it falls short, and who it is not for.
