HeyReach and Expandi are both cloud LinkedIn automation tools billed per connected LinkedIn account, and they solve different problems. HeyReach is built to run many sender accounts from one inbox and gets cheaper per account with volume, from $79 per sender to $40 at 25 senders. Expandi is built around one account with a deep if-then sequence builder, native email steps and HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce connectors at $99 per account. In March 2026 LinkedIn removed HeyReach's company page; the software kept running. Every number below is dated.

Disclosure first: we are Overloop, and we compete with both HeyReach and Expandi on LinkedIn outreach. This comparison is built from the two vendors' public pricing pages, product pages and help centers, all read on September 9, 2026. We did not run a paid trial of either tool for this edition. Where one of them is the better choice, we say so, including when that choice is not us.

HeyReach vs Expandi: the short answer

HeyReach is better for agencies and outbound teams that run many LinkedIn accounts and want the lowest cost per account, because it bills per sender and drops to $40 per sender at 25 senders. Expandi is better for a single rep or a small team that wants one LinkedIn account, a deep if-then sequence builder, native CRM connectors and a built-in email step, at $99 per account per month. Neither includes a prospect database.

The rest of this article shows the numbers behind that answer and where each vendor's claims stop being verifiable.

How this comparison was made

Every price, limit and feature below carries the date we read it. Sources are the two pricing pages, product pages and help centers, plus HeyReach's own post about the LinkedIn action. Two Expandi help articles, "Recommended Limits" and "Email Integration Settings", returned an authorization error on September 9, 2026, so we make no claims that depend on them. For one side in depth, read our HeyReach review.

Who each tool is for

HeyReach: many senders, one inbox

HeyReach started from the agency problem. You connect several LinkedIn accounts to one workspace, assign them to a campaign, and the platform rotates connection requests and messages across them while every reply lands in one inbox. Team members and clients log in free; only senders are billed. Sequences are simple: a connection request, one branch on accepted or not, then messages, InMails, views, follows and likes with a minimum 3-hour delay.

Expandi: one account, deep sequences

Expandi started from the single-account problem and went deep rather than wide. Its help center lists 11 campaign types as of March 5, 2026: Connector, Messenger, Builder, free Open InMail, paid InMail, Group, Event Invite, Mobile Connector, Inbound, Company Follow Invite and Recovery. The Builder is the centerpiece: a drag-and-drop canvas of up to 50 steps with more than 20 actions listed on July 20, 2026, including email, skill endorsement, webhook, tags and an Integrations step for Smartlead, HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce. Conditions such as "If connected" and "If email exists" make one flow behave differently per prospect.

Expandi does run multiple accounts through workspaces and an Agency plan, but the unit of everything stays the individual LinkedIn account. HeyReach treats accounts as a pool. That difference explains most of the tables below.

Pricing: per sender vs per account

Both bill per connected LinkedIn account. The difference is the slope: HeyReach falls fast with volume, Expandi is flat with agency discounts quoted rather than published.

LinkedIn accounts HeyReach, monthly Expandi, monthly Cheaper
1 $79 $99 HeyReach by $20
3 $237 $297 HeyReach by $60
10 $790; about $470 on the yearly volume rate $990 at list; Agency quote, no published figure HeyReach at list
25 $999 (Agency), $40 per sender $2,475 at list; Agency quote, no published figure HeyReach, by a wide margin

LinkedIn safety and daily limits

Both are cloud tools that act on your LinkedIn account from a server, which LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits for any third-party automation, Overloop's LinkedIn steps included.

HeyReach publishes hard figures: a maximum of 40 connection requests per day per account, 25 recommended, 200 invitations per week, with new profiles ramped from 5 a day. It says each account sits behind a dedicated residential proxy and is frozen before LinkedIn's thresholds; those claims cannot be checked from outside.

Expandi publishes a method rather than a ceiling. Its Daily Limits article (May 29, 2026) explains limit ranges: set 20 to 27 messages a day and the system picks a random number in that range each day. The limit-exceeded article (May 21, 2026) uses 30 connection requests and 40 messages a day as its example. Warm-up (May 29, 2026) starts at 5 actions a day and adds 3 every two days up to 21, and recommends staying within 100 connection requests a week. The Mobile Connector campaign (May 6, 2026) adds "between 50 and 100 extra connection requests per week" without a note and requires 2FA. Its "dedicated country-based IP per account" promise is as unverifiable as HeyReach's proxy claim.

Our reading: HeyReach is more transparent about ceilings; Expandi is more granular about pacing. HeyReach also lowers per-account exposure by spreading one campaign across several senders. Expandi's Mobile Connector pushes a single account harder, which a cautious admin should weigh.

The March 2026 LinkedIn action against HeyReach

On March 25, 2026, LinkedIn removed the HeyReach company page and restricted the personal profiles of its CEO, CTO, CRO and CMO, without notice. HeyReach described the event in a post published August 7, 2026; LinkedIn never published a reason. According to HeyReach, and confirmed by third-party coverage, the software kept running: "Customer accounts, campaigns, and the platform itself continued operating normally."

  1. It is a category signal, not an Expandi advantage. HeyReach notes that Apollo, Seamless, Evaboot, Lemlist and La Growth Machine have been hit before. Expandi runs on the same cloud principle.
  2. Your account carries the risk, not the vendor's logo. The action removed HeyReach's marketing presence, not a single customer profile.
  3. Roadmap direction changed. HeyReach has since pushed an API, a CLI, an MCP server and a managed tier. Expect it to keep moving toward agencies and integrations.

Email and multichannel

This is the clearest functional difference. HeyReach does not send email. Its multichannel page hands email follow-ups to Instantly, Smartlead or EmailBison, and its Find Email step spends one credit per successful lookup on 100 included credits per sender.

Expandi sends email natively. The pricing page lists "Multichannel outreach (connections, messages, email)" on the Business plan, the homepage says "Connect any email provider", and the Builder has an Email action with email opened, clicked and bounced webhook events. We could not confirm how many email accounts one seat can connect, because the Email Integration Settings article would not open on September 9, 2026. Neither tool has a contact database, so the list still comes from Sales Navigator or an enrichment tool.

Integrations, API and webhooks

HeyReach is the more open platform. A public REST API with webhooks ships on the entry plan, the integrations page names about 25 tools including HubSpot, Clay, Instantly, Smartlead and n8n, plus Zapier and Make, and it publishes a free MCP server and a CLI. Pipedrive and Salesforce are not listed as native connectors.

Expandi is the more CRM-ready platform for a small team. Its help center documents HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce integrations that "automatically send leads and activity data" when campaign triggers fire, a one-way push into the CRM. It lists 25 outgoing webhook events (May 14, 2026) and a Zapier guide. There is no conventional API: the help center says "Reversed webhook actions are the closest to the publicly available API we have", covering add-to-campaign and pause or resume. An MCP connector is in beta.

If your stack is Clay-driven and you script campaigns, HeyReach. If your stack is a CRM and you want leads to land there without middleware, Expandi.

Verdict by team type

Our HeyReach alternatives guide covers the tools outside this pair, and the LinkedIn outreach tools comparison puts both in a field of 8.

Where Overloop fits

Overloop is our product, built for the third profile above: a sales team that wants to find the prospect, write the sequence and run email and LinkedIn steps from one place. You source contacts in an advertised 450M+ B2B database or add them from LinkedIn with a Chrome extension. Pricing is per user, not per LinkedIn account: Starter is $69 per user per month with 250 credits and 1 email account, Growth is $99 with 500 credits and 3 email accounts. HubSpot and Pipedrive come with Growth, Salesforce with Enterprise. Trial: 14 days, no credit card.

Where we lose: multi-account LinkedIn operations, where HeyReach is the right call, and sequence depth, where Expandi's Builder goes further. Where we win: one price per rep that includes the database, email and LinkedIn. The full Overloop vs HeyReach comparison goes deeper.

Want LinkedIn and email in the same sequence?

Overloop runs both channels natively and includes the prospect database, from $69 per user per month.

Frequently asked questions

Is HeyReach or Expandi cheaper?

On September 9, 2026, HeyReach lists $79 per LinkedIn sender per month and Expandi $99 per LinkedIn account, so HeyReach is $20 cheaper at list price. The gap widens with volume: HeyReach's Agency plan is $999 for 25 senders, about $40 each, while Expandi quotes agency pricing from 10 seats without a published figure.

Does Expandi send email?

Yes. Expandi's pricing page lists "Multichannel outreach (connections, messages, email)" on the Business plan and its Builder has an Email action, as read on September 9, 2026. HeyReach does not send email natively; it hands email steps to Instantly, Smartlead or EmailBison.

Which is safer for my LinkedIn account?

Neither is safe in the strict sense: both automate a LinkedIn account from the cloud, which LinkedIn prohibits. HeyReach publishes a 40 per day maximum and a 200 per week cap on connection requests. Expandi publishes randomized limit ranges, a warm-up from 5 to 21 actions a day and a 100 per week recommendation. Volume and account age matter more than the vendor.

Was HeyReach banned by LinkedIn, and does it still work?

On March 25, 2026, LinkedIn removed the HeyReach company page and restricted its executives' profiles, according to HeyReach's account published August 7, 2026. The software was not shut down and HeyReach still sells LinkedIn senders as of September 9, 2026. Expandi was not part of that action but runs on the same cloud principle.

Does Expandi have an API?

Not a conventional one. Expandi's help center (May 18, 2026) says "Reversed webhook actions are the closest to the publicly available API we have"; they add a profile to a campaign and pause or resume a lead. Expandi does offer 25 webhook events, Zapier and CRM integrations. HeyReach ships a REST API on every plan.

Which is better for agencies?

HeyReach, for most agencies: $999 per month for 25 senders with white label, one inbox across client accounts and sender rotation inside one campaign. Expandi's Agency plan offers white label and Stripe reseller billing, but pricing is a quote from 10 seats and each campaign runs on one account. Agencies selling deep conditional sequences may still prefer Expandi.
